Getting There

BY PLANE

The closest airport to Compiègne is Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport (CDG), which is France\'s main airport. There are also lowcost flights operated by Ryanair or Wizzair arriving at the Beauvais airport (BVA) from select European cities.

GETTING TO COMPIÈGNE FROM CDG AIRPORT

  • You can reach Compiègne from CDG by train or by taxi, which is by far the easiest and fastest way.

  • By taxi, if you arrange transportation through us, the cost is 89€ one-way. The trip takes about 45 minutes. You will need to inform us of your arrival date, time and terminal so we can book the taxi for you.

GETTING TO COMPIÈGNE FROM BEAUVAIS AIRPORT
There are no easy public transportation links between Compiègne and Beauvais Airport. Taxi is your best option. Cost is 89€ if you arrange transportation through us, the trip takes about 1 hour. You will need to inform us of your arrival date and time so we can book the taxi for you.

BY TRAIN

Compiègne can be reached by train from Gare du Nord in Paris. There are numerous regional (TER) and Intercity (Intercités) trains throughout the day, from 6:00 to 22:30. Depending on the train, the trip takes 40 to 50 minutes. Cost is 15€.

GETTING AROUND

Compiègne is not a big city, but it is somewhat spread out. Reaching the Centre Pierre Guillaumat by foot from the city center takes about 45 minutes. To get around, you can either use taxis or the free bus service offered by the municipality.

BY BUS
Compiègne has an extensive network of free buses. To reach the Centre Pierre Guillaumat, either get off at stop "Guy Danielou" on line 2 / 3 or "Centres de Recherches" on line 5 (purple circle on the map), which is closer to the meeting place. During the day, buses run at an interval of around 15 minutes. You can find timetables for each line at http://www.mairiecompiegne.fr/TIC.aspx (in French, download the PDF for the chosen line down the page).

BY TAXI

Usually, taxis do not roam around the city looking for customers. If you want to reach the Centre de Recherches from your hotel, just ask the reception to call a taxi for you. You will also find taxis waiting for customers at the railway station. Plan on 10 € one-way between the city center and the Centre Pierre Guillaumat.
