Infotripla Oy

In CoMosef project Infotripla is working as traffic data integrator and service provider.

Mobisoft Oy

 Mobisoft Oy is a Finnish software company that specializes in automated dispatching and wireless data transfer applications for passenger transport. Mobisoft was acquired by DDS Wireless International Inc. in late 2007 and its solutions are available in North America through DDS Wireless’ subsidiaries, Digital Dispatch and StrataGen. Its managed dispatch service is offered as a part of Digital Dispatch’s portfolio of taxi solutions and its transit solution complements StrataGen’s demand response solution.

Mobisoft has 20 years’ experience in automated dispatching and scheduling, GPS and digital map-based routing and location systems, etc., in a number of European countries. The focus has been on real-time scheduling and dispatching for passenger transport, allowing Mobisoft to provide complete systems to address all the needs of taxi companies, local authorities, bus companies – in fact, any transport operator or provider. In addition Mobisoft has developed solutions for sensor data collection and fusion, vehicle software, mobile and WLAN based V2V and V2I communications etc.

The combination of technical development and engineering skills along with many years of real transport experience has enabled Mobisoft to develop highly advanced IT solutions for passenger transport: the TaxiBook automatic booking and dispatching system and the MobiRouter journey combination system. Over three thousand taxis are already controlled using our software in Finland and almost the same number is using the system in other countries. MobiRouter is also the market leader in the United Kingdom for scheduling public Demand Responsive Transport (DRT) services. Mobisoft has been involved in more than 15 successful FP4,FP5,FP6 and FP7 projects and is the Co-ordinator of CoMoSeF.

Post Luxembourg

Post Luxembourg is Luxembourg's leading telecommunications and information services company, with one of the best known names in Luxembourg. Founded in 1842, and operating as a public enterprise since 1992, Post Luxembourg serves all segments of the community from residential to corporate customers. The Telecommunications market, at both national and European level, is currently undergoing a technological revolution in the midst of an aggressively competitive environment. For this reason Post Luxembourg is specially equipped to deal with the specific challenges that apply in the local and wider market. Post Luxembourg has proven project experience as an operator, especially in the areas of ad hoc (and) emergency communication as well as transmission of sensor related data.  They have participated in European Union sponsored projects such as u-2010, HNPS.  Post Luxembourg also participated in the first three Calls for the LuxLaunch initiatives of the Luxembourg Ministry of Science and Research.

Post Luxembourg has keenly supported Luxembourg’s participation in previous European Union and Celtic projects and will make an experienced partner.  Post Luxembourg has broad experience in liaising with other operators and large companies, both throughout Europe and globally.  This experience can only widen the depth of knowledge available to the study.Post Luxembourg was one of the first operators in Europe to make a commercial IPv6 internet offering, as a direct follow-on from its participation in the u-2010 project (FP7).  It retains a integrated telecommunications test bed from previous projects that integrates IPv6 with existing telecommunications technologies.  It will make this test bed available for the project and would like to use the project as an opportunity to grow the test bed to include and test new technologies (LTE for example). Post Luxembourg will be the WP leader for WP 2: Use case and service definition. It has proven experience in scenario definition and management in European projects and will bring this expertise to help define the requirements, use cases and services that will be part of the demonstrations scenarios.

Public Research Centre Henri Tudor

  Located in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg (www.tudor.lu), the Centre de Recherche Public (public research centre) Henri Tudor is a R&D and technology transfer institution. Within the Centre Henri Tudor, SSI (Science Service and Innovation) includes expertise in knowledge management and e-learning, semantic web; conceptual modelling, software quality improvement and quality of services, security; e-business, project management, business and enterprise modelling, innovation network (innovation through technological platforms) and knowledge-based economy. The centre is also conducting research in distributed systems and networks optimisation. CRP Henri Tudor is actively involved in several mobility related project including national and European initiatives to promote multi-modal transport, car-sharing and the efficient deployment of electric vehicles infrastructures.

CRP Henri Tudor consider contributing to the CoMoSeF project along the following main points:

  • Analysis, modelling and deployment of novel data dissemination techniques adapted to the hybrid nature of the network targeted in CoMoSeF especially focusing on the integration of vehicular networks and other ad-hoc networks with conventional networks (3G and others).
  • Analysis and implementation of a service compatibility layer allowing the access to a same service from very different terminals.
  • Improvement of the multi-modal pseudo-real time planning algorithm to provide up to date warnings, forecast and rerouting to the mobile users.

Spanish consortium

Traffic congestion represents a serious threat to Europe in general and to Spain in particular, because of the loss of economic competitiveness. In addition, most of the people (~78% in Spain) live in urban areas where there is increased demand for mobility for both people and goods. Since urban settings usually do not allow the construction of new roads to address the increasing demand for mobility, these scenarios represent a significant environmental challenge. In fact, in the coming decades they will be used strategies more 'intelligent' and 'cooperative' for urban traffic management, using new technologies in order to increase the social and economic welfare. In particular, some studies estimate that an increased in road capacity close to 20-30% can be obtained with just a better and more effective use of existing roads, using advanced and innovative traffic management techniques.

 

Within CoMoSeF, the Spanish consortium will be in charge of the definition of the global functional architecture and the development of cooperative ITS applications for safety and traffic management. They will focus on the development of local applications for messages reception and data visualization on mobile device platforms, as well as local applications used for data acquisition and interaction with others ITS systems (connection and interaction with OBU and RSU HW prototypes). Moreover, they will study the possible integration of ITS sensors with intelligent cooperative RSU.

The CoMoSeF Project has been co-founded by the Spanish Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism, within the National Plan of Scientific Investigation, Development and Technologic Innovation 2008-2011 (TSI-020401-2012-5).

The groups activities are research and teaching in the fields of image processing, pattern recognition, computer vision, hardware design for image acquisition and processing.

Thales Communications

The laboratory and department of TCS involved in COMOSEF is Advanced Information Technologies (TAI) and the department of the transportation traffic management whose mission is to envision the future approach, architecture and technology for Thales systems within the Systems Engineering and Architecture group.

The preceded experience about Wireless Car Navigation Device with the several and various communication technologies, specifically WAVE 802.11p is the positive contribution to CoMoSeF project. In addition, a wide variety of nomadic devices, such as Car Navigator, Smart Phone, PAD, etc. worked on is the strength to understand user study in terms of technology. In Seoul, South Korea, UBRIDGE successfully carried out Smart Highway and UTIS which were the government driven ITS project. Further, UBRIDGE has been the consortium member of WiSafeCar and current member of CCC(Car Connectivity Consortium). 
The role of UBRIDGE in CoMoSeF is test-beds set up with refined protocol which is discussed and evaluated on the pilot using U-Link framework based on AllJoyn™ which lets the compatible smart things recognize each other and share resources and information. For user safety and usability, mirroring solution will be used as well.
